Folded on itself

Connate
Joined by growth

Fungi that are joined at their margins are described as being connate

Conical

A conical fungi cap is roughly triangular in shape

Convex

Many fungi have a convex cap that is shaped like a smooth mound.

Depressed

A flattish fungi cap with a shallow central depression is described as depressed

Indibuliform
Funnel shape

Infundibuliform is the mycological term for mushrooms that are funnel shaped

Umbonate
A central hill

In mycological terms an umbo is a small central hillock in the centre of the cap. A cap with an umbo is described as umbonate

Membranous

A thin, pliable and wide mushroom cap is described as membranous

When a mushroom cap has a sharply raised centre it is described by the mycological term Papillate

Central pimple

Campanulate
 Bell-shaped

Campanulate is the mycological term for a fungi cap that is shaped like a bell

Cylindrical

Cylindrical mushroom caps like lawyer's wigs hug their stems

Flatish

A plane fungi cap has a flatish top

Plain Fungi Margins

When the upper edge of a mushroom cap is quite straight where it meets the gills or pores it i s described as having plain margins

Incurved

If the upper edge of a mushroom's cap turns down to a sharp point where it meets the gills it is described as having an incurved margin

Rounded

When the gills or pores of a mushroom form a rounded curve that meets the edge of the cap it is described as having rounded margins

Involute
Inrolled

A fungus cap that curls down and inrolled at its edges is called involuted

Revolute
 Curved upwards

When the edges of a mushroom cap rollup and back they are called revolute

Upturned

Amushroom with an edge that only turns up slightly is described as upturned in mycology
