Dermocybe splendida
An Australian Web-cap Fungi

Dermocybe splendida
Dermocybe splendida
The  cinnabar red cap of the Australian mushroom, Dermocybe splendida  is initially convex  before flattening out.   It retains a central umbo and often has radial ridges as  shown in this photo.

The cap of Dermocybe splendida is dry but somewhat greasy especially when wet and in mature specimens the margins may be undulate.
